One of the better performing actors in Jalel Kadri’s 2022 Tunisian World Cup squad has reportedly caught the eye of Bundesliga side Hertha BSC. Aïssa Laïdouni, who played three group stage matches alongside 1. FC Köln’s Ellyes Skhiri for the “Eagles of Carthage” may be making the move to Germany soon, according to Tunisian footballing news portal Ettachkila.
The 25-year-old Laïdouni currently plies his trade for Ferencvárosi TC in the Hungarian top flight. The versatile Montfermeil native can play as either a six, eight, or even sweeper in just about any midfield set-up. This may make him a perfect fit for Sandro Schwarz’s Hertha BSC, who could use such an actor tactically in a wide array of useful ways.

Ettachkila reports that Germany’s Charlottenburg capital-city-side consider Laïdouni an excellent candidate to pair in offensive midfield alongside Suat Serdar. Laïdouni’s style-of-play is likened to that of veteran Vladimir Darida, whom “die alte Dame” will likely soon be offloading.

The report goes on to state that Laïdouni’s Hungarian club will want at least €4 million for the player, something that might be manageable enough for Fredi Bobic and the front-office crew after a few sales generate enough revenue. The 27-times-capped Tunisian international’s current contract with Ferencvárosi is set to expire in the summer, though the Budapest side has a unilateral option to extend.
