Leon Goretzka has argued in favor of including Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug and Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko in Germany’s World Cup squad, which will be announced tomorrow.
Even if the two strikers haven’t represented Germany in the past, they could “certainly” help the team at the tournament in Qatar, Goretzka stated after Bayern’s 6-1 win over Werder Bremen yesterday.
“It can never hurt to have goal-scoring players in the squad,” he added.
Goretzka also highlighted Bayern teammate Serge Gnabry and Chelsea’s Kai Havertz as players with the ability to play up front for Germany.
“No matter where he is on the pitch, Serge is definitely a goal threat. Kai Havertz can play there too.
“Serge is – no matter where he is on the pitch – definitely a goal-threatening player. Kai Havertz is also one who can play there,” Goretzka said, “But that’s up to the national coach to find a good solution there.”
