Timo Werner has been ruled out of the World Cup with an ankle injury.

RB Leipzig and Germany forward Timo Werner will not be able to feature at the World Cup due to an ankle injury.
Werner was forced off in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, and scans today have shown that he has torn his left syndesmosis ligament.
Therefore, Werner will miss the rest of 2022, including the World Cup in Qatar.
“It’s very sad news,” said Germany coach Hansi Flick in a statement.
“I feel really sorry for Timo that he will miss a World Cup that he was determined to play at. Above all though, his absence is a big loss for the team. We all wish him a speedy recovery!”
