Amidst another electric atmosphere at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei, Union bounced back in league play with a massive late win over Gladbach. Players waxed lyricals about their performance following Sunday’s game:
Rani Khedira said, “In my year and a half, I’ve never seen a game like this here where we completely constricted the opponent.”
Goal-scorer Kevin Behrens commented, “Everyone is hot, everyone wants to show the coach that they are there. We have a great mentality.”
Adding, “Of course the fans dream of it, but we don’t talk about the championship in the dressing room. We just step on the gas.”
Looking to secure a spot in the Europa League round of 16, Union will now turn their attention to Thursday’s huge match against group leaders Union Saint-Gilloise.
