Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has provided an injury update ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Inter.
The German champions have some notable, with Leroy Sané, Lucas Hernandez, Matthijs de Ligt, Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer all set to miss out.
“The game comes too soon for Leroy [Sané]. He will likely return to the squad on the weekend. The same goes for Lucas Hernandez. Both have returned to team training,” Nagelsmann told reporters and continued:
“Matthijs [de Ligt] will also not play due to a knee issue, he has a minor ligament strain. We will rotate. How many changes we make depends on how things go today and tomorrow. We won’t take any risks, after all, the last few weeks have been very intense.”
“The plan is to give Thomas [Müller] a reduced workload this week and see how things are by this weekend. I don’t think that he will be part of the squad.
“We’re hoping ‘Manu’ [Neuer] will return this weekend. He had no issues during and after training today. We will need to wait and see.”
After securing first place in Group C, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann is planning to rotate his squad tomorrow.
“We have a balanced squad. The last weeks have proven that our substitutes are able to slot in seamlessly. We will rotate tomorrow because a couple players are carrying knocks and are tired,” Nagelsmann said and continued:
“We want to win and still have important games in the Bundesliga ahead of us – things are very tight in the table. This will be chance for different players to prove themselves, and we want to pick up maximum points from our group.”
