Gladbach demand €10 million from Leipzig for Eberl

By Rune Gjerulff

Bild reports RB Leipzig want to bring in Max Eberl as their new sporting director, but ‘Die Roten Bullen’ need to find an agreement with Gladbach first.

Max Eberl.

At the end of January, Max Eberl stepped back as Gladbach sporting director, citing mental exhaustion as the reason for his resignation.

Now Eberl seems ready to go back to work, with reports claiming that he’s in talks about taking over the vacant sporting director role at RB Leipzig.

The problem for Leipzig is that Eberl is still under contract with Gladbach until 2026, and ‘Die Fohlen’ want €10 million to terminate his deal.

Should they find an agreement with Leipzig, Gladbach could use the money to strengthen in attack, with Dion Beljo (NK Osijek), Joshua Zirkzee (Bayern) and Franck Honorat (Stade Brest) said to be among their transfer targets.
