Matthijs de Ligt has been limited to just 20 minutes of playing time for Bayern München so far following his €67 million switch from Juventus this summer.
After impressing in pre-season, Dayot Upamecano has been ahead of de Ligt in the pecking order alongside record signing Lucas Hernandez, and the former RB Leipzig defender is not worried about the competition coming from Bayern’s new signing.
“I worked a lot with an athletic trainer during my vacation. I feel better than last season,” Upamecano told TZ.
“We have a lot of competition, but that’s better for us. I just want to play and carry on,” he added.
