The concerns expressed yesterday by Leverkusen trainer Gerardo Seoane in his post-match presser have unfortunately proven to be spot on for young French attacker Amine Adli. On Sunday evening, his Bundesliga club confirmed that the 22-year-old had, as feared, suffered a broken collarbone late in Saturday’s defeat to FC Augsburg.

Even though the new injury will, according to the club, not necessitate surgery, the Frenchman must play spectator again until at least the end of the international break in late September. The Toulouse academy product, rather bitterly, had been attempting a comeback from a serious thigh injury that prematurely ended his previous campaign.
