Chelsea are among three potential Premier League clubs that could poach Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian’s transfer wish has been revealed if he were to eventually depart Merseyside in the near future.

The Reds and their manager Jurgen Klopp were left stunned by the events of last week. First off, the Champions League final defeat at the hands of now 14-time winners Real Madrid was a tough one to swallow, especially considering what went down with supporters prior to kick-off at the Stade de France. Then, a day later, it was revealed that key player Sadio Mane was to depart the club this summer for a new challenge elsewhere with Bayern Munich reportedly favourites at this stage.

Are things starting to unravel for the six-time Champions League winners? Well, to avoid this being the case, sorting out the future of their number 11 will be imperative to determine the direction that Liverpool will be going in as Klopp looks to enact revenge on Man City next season in the Premier League.

Currently, there is no solution regarding a new deal for the 29-year-old who reportedly wants to become the best-paid player in Merseyside, but as he’s already detailed before in previous interviews, his destiny continues to remain out of his hands.

The prospect of Liverpool’s key talismanic figure, who largely ghosted in the Champions League final despite his revenge promise, leaving seems inconceivable considering his love for the club but as the days of stalemate draw on between his agent Ramy Abbas and FSG but shock transfer exits have happened before with Lionel Messi’s Barcelona exit a prominent example of a situation coming to fruition which always seemed impossible.

Therefore, if Salah were to leave at the end of next season when he would become a free agent, where could he possibly go? Most would think that a move abroad would be the order of the day in this situation for a player who attained 46 goal contributions in 2021/22 but this may not be the case according to the latest.

The Athletic’s main Liverpool correspondent James Pearce has reported that if this season’s joint Golden Boot winner was to move on, then his own wish would be to remain in England and the Premier League. a transfer wish which will have Chelsea on high alert.

New owner Todd Boehly is reportedly keen on making a few marquee and statement signings in the early years of his Chelsea tenure as the American looks to reward Thomas Tuchel for all his achievements so far and that’s exactly why the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Ousmane Dembélé and even Neymar have been linked so far ahead of the transfer window opening on June 10.

But Salah’s acquisition would be a notch above the aforementioned targets with the exception of the PSG star. It would be a deal that would delight club legend Didier Drogba who has already preached for the higher-ups in the past to bring back his African companion despite the player in question feeling ‘sad’ about playing for a Premier League rival.

Alternatively, the likes of Man City and the now-richest club in England Newcastle United could be viable options for Salah to explore alongside the potential of a return to a place where he has unfinished business.
