Dane Scarlett has signed a new contract with Tottenham which will keep him at the club until 2026. The 18-year-old forward has been tipped to have a bright future, with the teenager making seven first team appearances for Spurs this season.
“If I stick to it and keep working hard there should be no reason why I can’t do what he’s [Harry Kane] done, if not more,” Scarlett said after signing the new deal. “I’m happy in the position I’m in now but I haven’t really done anything yet, so I’ve just got to stay focused on myself, keep working hard. [I’m] very hungry, I just want to be the best, that’s it.”
Tottenham undoubtedly have a good young player on their hands with lots of potential, and this is backed up by what Jose Mourinho said about the striker last year. “He has worked many times with the first team and that gives him a different personality,” the former Tottenham boss explained.

“He is going to be a fantastic player and I hope everything around him goes well. He is a striker, a number nine, I have been playing him from the sides similar to Marcus Rashford and he is very clever.
“I hope that nothing is going to destroy that potential. He must have feet on the ground and head on his shoulders because he has a fantastic talent,” Mourinho added.
football.londonreported earlier this month that Scarlett could be loaned out next season to further his development. This will allow the youngster to get the regular game time he needs, as remaining in N17 may not give him the time on the pitch he requires to progress.
There would be hope that the 18-year-old could then return to Tottenham, having had a successful loan and really battle for his place in the starting XI, making him a potential key player for the future at Spurs. Judging by Mourinho’s comments at least, Tottenham have some player on their hands.
