Mainz 05 have confirmed that Marcus Ingvartsen has joined the club permanently from Union Berlin on a contract until 2025.

The Danish forward spent the 2021/22 season at MEWA Arena on a loan deal, which has now been made permanent.

“Marcus has fit in great with the group and with Mainz 05, although this season has not been an easy one for him, especially due to injuries,” said Mainz coach Bo Svensson and continued:

“The fact that he still contributed seven goals shows what kind of potential he has. Marcus has different qualities to his rivals in our forward line and we are convinced that he will play an even bigger role with us in the coming season,” added the head coach.
