Arsenal loanee Kostas Mavropanos is open to staying at Stuttgart for another season.

Kostas Mavropanos doesn’t want to rule out staying at VfB Stuttgart beyond the end of the season.

The 24-year-old Greek centre-back, who is on loan from Arsenal, told Bild:

“Stuttgart have an option to sign me. If they do that, I’ll be a VfB player. That’s all there is to say about it at the moment.”

According to reports, Stuttgart will be obliged to sign Mavropanos for €3 million if the club stay in the Bundesliga.

If ‘Die Schwaben’ are relegated, they have a purchase option to acquire the player permanently for the same amount of money.

With one game left to play, Stuttgart are in the relegation play-off spot, three points clear of 17th-placed Arminia Bielefeld and three points behind Hertha, who are 15th.

Having been linked with Newcastle United and West Ham, Mavropanos recently stated that he would “like to play in the Premier League again at some point”.
