Christophe Galtier on his future: “It’s like being in a couple, we don’t divorce after every dispute.”

As reported by Nice-Martin, in speaking before his OGC Nice side’s meeting with his former club Saint-Etienne this evening, Christophe Galtier was asked if he could leave the club at the end of the season, following the weekend’s cup final loss to Nantes. Galtier explained:

“First of all, we haven’t yet reached the time to review the balance sheet. There’s great disappointment among the players, the staff, the management, the media and, of course, the supporters. We’d been waiting for that moment for 25 years. The disappointment matches the immense expectation. After a final, regardless of the scenario, you always open the debate on next season. But now is not the time, we have three league games left. My team have won 18 games and had a magnificent cup run.”

“I know very well what’s being said. Will I be the coach of Nice next season? The question should really be: ‘Why wouldn’t I be?’ There may be disagreements, clashes, but we don’t live in the world of the Care Bears. It’s like being in a couple, we don’t divorce after every dispute, fortunately. It happens at every club. I have my way of seeing things, of thinking, and Julien has his own way, as well as accountability to the management of INEOS.”
