In a fairly big development regarding Hertha loanee Omar Alderete, German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Omar Alderete’s planned permanent move to FC Valencia is off for the team being. According to the magazine, the built-in purchase clause for the Paraguayan center-halve cannot be activated based on the fact that the Spanish club missed out on European football.

Los Murciélagos are thus currently seeking to retain the 25-year-old’s services via a renewed loan. In principle this could be possible given that Alderete’s current working papers with “die alte Dame” run through 2025. The capital city side may nevertheless be poised for a rethink after not receiving the type of transfer revenue they had hoped to accrue for the player.

Though it isn’t exactly new news, Kicker also reports that any potential stay of Dutch winger Javairo Dilrosun at FC Girondins Bordeaux can now officially be ruled out. Hertha sporting CEO Fredi Bobic built an optional purchase clause into the 23-year-old’s loan arrangement; one that Les Girondins have no interest in pulling despite the fact that Dilrosun has done well (two goals and eight assists) for the club.

Hertha will hence be getting two wingers back after the season,. It has already been revealed that VfL Wolfsburg has no interest in keeping Dodi Lukebakio on their roster. The Belgian regularly featured for Germany’s green company team during the first half of the campaign, but fell out of the XI following the acquisitions of Max Kruse and Jonas Wind during the January transfer window.

Kicker also reports that, after his emergence as a talismanic leader late in the relegation race, Hertha are also considering extending Kevin-Prince Boateng’s contract for an additional year. The 35-year-old Charlottenburg native has been widely expected to retire after his current deal with his hometown youth club expires at the end of the year.

Kicker reports that Bobic and the administrative team currently debate whether or not to give the veteran one more year.
