L’Équipe report that Kylian Mbappé has successfully obtained Paris Saint-Germain’s approval to attend the UNFP awards, where he is nominated for Ligue 1 player of the year.

The forward will then leave to join the rest of the squad for a training camp in Qatar, with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Nuno Mendes also arriving later to attend the ceremony. The Italian is nominated for best goalkeeper and the defender for best young player. Club captain Marquinhos will also remain for the extra day.

The rest of the team will fly out shortly after the match against Strasbourg on Saturday evening, with the whole squad returning to France on Monday evening.

Mbappé is up against Wissam Ben Yedder, Lucas Paquetá, Martin Terrier, and Dimitri Payet, as he looks to win the award for the third time in a row.
