Biggest deal in football history, Abramovich sells Chelsea to Wyss and Boehly

After much negotiation, an agreement has finally been reached to sell London’s biggest club Chelsea. Roman Abramovich has finally decided to sell Chelsea and the race to buy the English giant has won the Swiss-American consortium with Hansjorg Wyss and Todd Boehly.

If the British government approves the acquisition, then the biggest deal in football history will be finalized. 86-year-old Swiss Hansjorg Wyss and 48-year-old American Todd Boehly will be the new owners of the London club, reports the Swiss medium Blick.

Wyss and Boehly have reached an agreement with Russian Roman Abramovich to buy Chelsea for a record amount of 3.5 billion pounds (4,117,000,000 euros).

The deal in question will go down in sports history, as no such amount has ever been paid before to buy a sports club. Roman Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea after the British government imposed sanctions on him after the war broke out between Russia and Ukraine, and the Russian billionaire was sanctioned because he is known as one of President Vladimir Putin’s closest associates.

Anyway now Chelsea can be said to have new owners and the formalization of the agreement between Abramovich and the Wyss duo of Boehly is only a matter of days.
