All eyes are on Daniel Levy this summer as Antonio Conte looks for financial backing in the transfer market to strengthen his Tottenham squad. Despite recent speculation linking him with Paris Saint-Germain, the current Lillywhites boss is expected to stay put.
Whether or not Conte gets top four remains to be seen as his side are embroiled in a tight and tense top battle with north London rivals Arsenal but what isn’t in doubt is that fresh faces need to be added to a squad that has needed major refreshing since Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure.
“[Laughs] No, no, no. We’re totally focused on this season,” Conte said regarding the latest on the transfer situation ahead of Liverpool. “Also, because I repeat, we’re finishing this season with only 15 players and at the moment it’s not convenient to give them a list, because the list it would be very, very, very big! You understand? It’s not a good moment to give them the list.”

All areas of the pitch could arguably do with extra strengthening, so it’s set up to be a rather productive summer for a club who need to signal their intent to a manager who has shown he can win the big trophies if backed with money. football.london has taken a look at the latest Spurs transfer rumours doing the rounds at this current moment.
Double defensive blow
Ateltico Madrid’s Mario Hermoso and Lille’s Sven Botman have slipped down the defensive target list as others are being preferred, according to the Daily Mail.
It is expected that Conte will be looking to Serie A as their main target market for player recruitment meaning this update shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to the Tottenham faithful.
The likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar and even Kalidou Koulibaly are reportedly high up in the defensive target list for Fabip Paratici and co. The latter two are options that the former Premier League winning manager wanted during his shortlived but successful Chelsea days.
Adama Traore hope
The former Wolves man at one point during the January transfer window looked destined to move to Spurs to join a long-term admirer in the form of Conte. However, for whatever reason, he wanted to give Barcelona another go on an initial loan with an option to buy deal but it seems as though Xavi is not too keen on activating the £25million option.
That could leave Spurs will another opportunity to pursue one of Conte’s long-term targets in the upcoming summer transfer window. Something which could still happen according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
In his tweet, Romano said: “Barcelona have no intention to pay €30m buy option for Adama Traore. The only way to keep him has always been a swap deal, with no money included in the negotiation with Wolves. As of today, there are chances for Adama to come back at Wolves and then leave again.”
Paulo Dybala Premier League move may still be on
The Argentine has had his long-term admirers in the English flight, with each of the current top six all linked with the Juventus man at one point over the last few years.
Currently, Dybala’s current Juventus deal runs out in the summer and despite initial optimism that he would stay in Turin after agreeing on terms for a new contract, that hasn’t happened as of yet, meaning all possibilities remain on the table.
Inter Milan had been strongly linked to a swoop for the Serie A star but it’s important not to rule out any Premier League club at this moment, especially given Conte’s special relationship with the 28-year-old.
A sentiment his agent wanted to reiterate to the Italian media: “I deny any kind of agreement with any club, as of today. No agreement has been reached with Italian or foreign clubs yet”.
