Speaking to the press after Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-3 draw against Strasbourg last night, Kylian Mbappé was quick to praise the Alsatians for their performances, although recognising that his team were off form.
His words transcribed in RMC Sport, the forward also indicated that he set himself the target to finish the season as both top scorer and assister in the league this season, having scored another two last night.
“Were we surprised by Strasbourg? No, we watch the games on TV! [smiles] They’re a team who are having a great season. I do think we gave them the stick to beat us with a bit but we shouldn’t take away the credit from teams who get a result from us – it’s not just because we’ve let up or that we’re not as good. They managed to turn it around at home, well done to them.”
“When I said that we are still playing, I included myself in that. I’ve always said that if you’re able to do both [score goals and assist] you shouldn’t deprive yourself of it. Now, there are three games left and I’m going to keep trying to help my to win every time.”
