Manchester United supporters have urged the club to swoop in and sign Ruben Neves after Wolves have reportedly accepted that they will lose the Arsenal target at the end of the season.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Wolves are drawing up a list of replacements for the Portuguese midfielder – who has been regularly linked with a move away from Molineux. Arsenal have been linked with the midfielder in recent months and it is claimed that United and Barcelona are also interested.

The defensive midfielder position is set to be a priority for Erik ten Hag this summer, with Nemanja Matic’s departure already confirmed and Paul Pogba expected set to put an end to his second spell at Old Trafford. It is clear that Arsenal are on the hunt for a central midfielder in the summer, with the Gunners also reported to be keen on Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

Previously, Wolves boss Bruno Lage has previously spoke of admiration for Neves and discussed a possible departure for the Wanderers man. Speaking to our sister title BirminghamLive, he said: “I don’t know if it’s Man United or other teams, what I know is we have a special player here with us.

“When you have that player, the best thing to do is improve his salary and years of contract. But who knows, when you have a top player like him in that specific position, that he can defend and attack, and is a top professional and a great man, the big teams are there with £100 million to buy these kinds of players.”

However sources have dismissed that figure and expect the club to cash in for a lower fee. And United fans have pleased their club to get involved in the race for Neves. This is what they said on social media:

Where Neves ends up for the start of the 2022/23 campaign remains unclear as of now, but with United and Arsenal circling around looking to sign the midfielder, he could finally be set to land a move away from Wolves.
