As teams around Europe settle their shortlists for the summer transfer window, Atletico Madrid appear to have added one to their list of midfielders.
Los Colchoneros are looking to strengthen the middle of the park and Andrea Berta has already tried to sign Boubacar Kamara of Marseille, whose contract is up in the summer. There is stiff competition for his signature however. Berta is also closely following Mohamed Camara of Salzburg.
Another alternative would be Lille’s Xeka as per Mundo Deportivo. The Portuguese would also be able to arrive for free with his contract also expiring, having spent five years in the North of France. That being said, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are also keen on Xeka and he may well be first choice for the Italians.
He would represent a defensively sound midfielder with the ability to play out of the press well. With Hector Herrera leaving the club in the summer, Diego Simeone currently knows he can count on Koke, Daniel Wass, Thomas Lemar, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Marcos Llorente and Rodrigo de Paul in central midfield.
