Nick Candy makes Chelsea ownership admission that fans will love amid takeover bid
Nick Candy has admitted that negotiations for him to takeover Chelsea are going well as things stand, but he’s also stated that he doesn’t mind if he misses out as long as the club is in a healthy position moving forward.
The 49-year-old boyhood Chelsea fan is in talks with financiers about his pitch to buy the club ahead of the deadline for offers at the end of this week.
Candy has since spoken out about his bid to buy the club himself.
“It’s going good,” he told Sky Sports News.
“I’ve supported Chelsea since the age of four. My dad was asked to play for Chelsea. I love Chelsea. I don’t mind where it ends up, even if it’s not with me, as long as it’s in safe hands.”
He continued by explaining that the fans should be a big part of the club’s future, starting with involvement on the board.
“They [the fans] should be involved in the ownership, both on the board and economically.”
