Tangential rumors involving the transfer of Heracles Almelo attacker Delano Burgzorg to FSV Mainz 05 surfaced earlier in the week. A Dutch transfer portal is now reporting that the deal is done, with the 23-year-old set to sign a long-term-deal as soon as tomorrow. Details of the transfer were not provided and official confirmation from the two clubs is still pending.

Mainz’s Allgemeine Zeitung also reports that the announcement is near. The Amsterdam native, accustomed to flexible deployments on the top attacking axis, has tallied four times in 18 competitive appearances for the Erdevisie side thus far this season. He’s netted a total of ten times since initially joining the Dutch club on loan during the 2019/20 campaign.
