Mohamed Salah has won everything at Liverpool but there’s one record Harry Kane still holds

Mohamed Salah is currently leading both the goals scored and assists charts in the Premier League this season.

The Liverpool star has been arguably the best player in the division so far this term – with 15 goals and nine assists to his name midway through the 2021/22 campaign.

Salah has received plenty of plaudits for his performances and return this season – and rightly so – but despite all of his brilliance, it just goes to show that he is still one step behind Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The two Premier League forwards have had somewhat of an indirect rivalry in recent seasons, with both producing silly numbers when it comes to goals and assists.

Kane became the first player in Premier League history last term to top both the goal scoring and assisting charts when the campaign concluded.

The Spurs forward racked 23 goals up over the course of the season, while also registering 18 assists for his team-mates along the way.

Salah, who has won the UEFA Champions League and Premier League during his time with Liverpool, as well as two Golden Boot awards, is now on course to achieve the same feat as Kane.

The Egypt international, with 15 goals, is five ahead of his nearest rival – and team-mate – Diogo Jota, with 10 to his name.

Meanwhile, he has registered one more assist than his Liverpool colleague Trent Alexander-Arnold and two more than Jarrod Bowen, Gabriel Jesus and Paul Pogba.

Salah will be hoping to top both of the tallies when the season concludes in May as he looks to become just the second-ever player to do so – with Kane the record holder at the moment.

There seems to be mutual respect between Salah and Kane, despite the rivalry. When Kane won the Golden Boot last season, the Liverpool star replied to his tweet, saying: “Very well deserved! Congratulations!”
