Thomas Tuchel slammed for rant after Aston Villa win

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has been heavily criticised after he criticised the Premier League for not having the five substitutions rule in place following his side’s win against Aston Villa.

“Five changes were invented because of Covid. Now we’re in the middle of Covid, and some teams are having games postponed, and others aren’t. Three changes is a big disadvantage,” Tuchel raised in a concerned manner post-Aston Villa.

These comments came under scrutiny from Shearer, who wasn’t holding back when responding to Tuchel after what should have been a happy day for all associated with the club.

“This is what our country is, he knew that before coming in,” the Newcastle legend pointed out on Match of the Day.

“The teams vote that in and they didn’t want that. I think it can be an unfair advantage for the smaller clubs.”

Di Marzio told German outlet Wettfreunde: “He doesn’t like Premier League too much. It is not in his dreams. It is not the perfect league at the moment.

“He prefers La Liga – he likes Liga a lot. So, I think in his thoughts, La Liga is the perfect tournament, now, to play in. Or Bundesliga, where he is currently playing.”
