Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that the Blues will drop further points this season in what is set to be an enthralling title race.
The Londoners currently sit top of the Premier League table after 13 games but saw their lead cut to just a single point at the weekend as both Liverpool and Manchester City earned victories, with Chelsea being held to a 1-1 draw to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel’s men dominated large parts of the clash in west London but were left frustrated as Jadon Sancho slotted past Edouard Mendy on the breakaway following Jorginho’s error. The Italian atoned for his mistake by netting from the penalty spot though to see a share of the points.
With the Blues now under more pressure from the chasing pack, Tuchel has admitted that Chelsea could continue to drop points but has fired a warning that the same will also happen to their title rivals.
Talking after the stalemate with the Red Devils the German said: “It’s happened twice that we play good games against Burnley and Manchester United and we feel disappointed.
“Over a long season you drop points, you dig in and you try to steal them back when someone steals points from you.
“This is what we will try to do. Don’t count the points when you are one up or four up.
“We are in the middle and that is what we need.”
Chelsea will of course be aiming to get back to winning ways as the hectic festive period begins to take hold.
The Blues at first travel to Watford on Wednesday evening before facing what looks like a tricky tie against West Ham United at the London Stadium next weekend.
The Hammers themselves contributed to the Blues seeing their lead cut having gone down 2-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
