Moura returns, Winks decision – The Tottenham team Antonio Conte should pick vs Burnley

After a disappointing last-second goal meant defeat against NS Mura on Thursday, Antonio Conte will be hoping for much better when his side take on Burnley on Sunday.

Tottenham have already had a trip to Turf Moor this season, with a 1-0 victory in the Carabao Cup, which saw them progress to the quarter-final where they will play West Ham in December.

Sean Dyche’s side will be hoping for three points after winning just one game so far this season but Conte will be wanting his side to show fight to get a much-needed victory.

We asked two of our Tottenham reporters, Alasdair Gold and Emma de Duve, to predict the team Conte will choose for his third Premier League game in charge.

Antonio Conte needs a performance that gets the confidence flowing through the Spurs players and fans again.

Few of those players who started the match in Slovenia will get the chance to put things right at Turf Moor.

The only two who might are Oliver Skipp, who will battle Harry Winks for a spot in the midfield, and Japhet Tanganga, who probably saw his main competition dissolve with Davinson Sanchez’s poor showing in Maribor.

Conte will be without Cristian Romero with his hamstring injury, while the injured Giovani Lo Celso and ill Steven Bergwijn have been out of action this week.

Gold’s team: Lloris; Tanganga, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Reguilon; Lucas, Kane, Son.

Emma de Duve – Tottenham Hotspur reporter

After a very poor performance against NS Mura, Tottenham need to come back with a win against Burnley on Sunday.

There were a number of players who got a chance to impress Conte and failed, so it is unlikely that many of them, if any, will get the chance to start in this Premier League game.

I imagine Skipp will return to the starting XI, after his suspension for the Leeds game and with Ndombele not doing enough against NS Mura, I think Hojbjerg will return alongside his midfield partner.

In the back three, I think Tanganga may keep his place at the back replacing Romero, after a poor performance from Sanchez, and Rodon not having as much game time so far this season.

I think Conte will mostly stick to the side that beat Leeds, assuming they are all of full fitness and the fringe players will need to continue to work hard in training if they want a chance to break in to the regular XI.

de Duve’s team: Lloris; Davies, Dier, Tanganga; Royal, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Reguilon; Moura, Kane, Son
