Tottenham fans have been left enthralled after rumours emerged of yet another return for Gareth Bale.

The Welshman, who originally left Spurs in 2013 for a big-money move to Real Madrid, has been linked with another reunion with his former club.

According to journalist Eduardo Inda when speaking to El Chiringuito, new Spurs boss Antonio Conte has rejected the chance to sign former Chelsea icon Eden Hazard in favour of Bale.

It is suggested that the Italian has requested that Daniel Levy make a move for the 32-year-old as he attempts to add to his attacking options in north London.

It remains quite unclear when Spurs would attempt to make a move for Bale, with his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu set to expire at the end of the season.

Regardless, should a move actually be signed-off, it would be the second time that the Welshman has returned to north London in his career.

He spent last season on-loan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and netted on 16 occasions in all competitions before his return to Spain.

Having not seen Bale take to the pitch in person, with the majority of the campaign having been played behind closed doors, some Spurs fans are enthralled by the prospect of yet another return.

Upon his return to Madrid, Bale has not enjoyed the best of times under former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti.

He started the first three league games of the campaign and scored in a 3-3 draw with Levante but has been ruled out with a knee injury ever since.

Intriguingly, he has also been linked with a move to Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal, with previous reports suggesting that the Gunners were considering lodging a bid for his services.
