The January transfer window is fast approaching.

As a number of players are set to miss at least a few weeks of action because of the Africa Cup of Nations, Edu may need to dip into the market to add to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad.

Meanwhile, some player’s have uncertain futures at the Emirates.

The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are coming to the end of their contracts at the club and may well benefit from a January move.

Atletico Madrid have identified the Arsenal striker as an alternative to Karim Adeyemi, who is believed to be in talks with Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old has forced his way back into Mikel Arteta’s plans in recent weeks but is still expected to leave when his deal runs out in the summer of 2022.

They hope that offering him the opportunity to stay in Serie A will persuade him to join in the long run.

Two-and-a-half years after departing, Aaron Ramsey could be back in the Premier League very soon.

His current club, Juventus, are reportedly considering letting him leave for free in the January transfer window in a bid to get the midfielder off the books.

He has subsequently been linked with a return to Arsenal as well as newly taken over Newcastle.
