Chelsea are three points clear at the top of the Premier League table as we head into yet another international break.
The Blues, despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley at the weekend, saw Liverpool lose to West Ham United, meaning they are four points above the Reds, but three ahead of Manchester City, who beat Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
With the international break now upon us, it gives officials at Chelsea the chance to work behind the scenes with the January transfer window just around the corner.
With all this being said, football.london takes a close look at the latest Chelsea-related transfer rumours from around Europe.
Barcelona eye Saul transfer
According to a report from Catalan news outlet El Nacional, Barcelona are keeping an eye on Saul Niguez’s situation at Chelsea.
The 26-year-old midfielder has featured just five times in all competitions for the Blues so far this term since joining from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan deal in August.
Saul does not seem to be very high up in the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel, and new Barcelona boss Xavi is said to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
Saul decision over Chelsea future
Despite what has just been mentioned above, Saul does not have any plans on leaving Chelsea yet.
That is according to a report from the Telegraph, who claim that the midfielder, who has missed out on the latest Spain squad, is targeting the international break as a period to try and revive his loan spell at the Blues.
Right now, Saul has ‘no plans’ to cut his loan deal short at Stamford Bridge and he will be ‘working intensively’ with the coaching staff at Cobham to ensure he is ready and raring to go for the clash with Leicester City once the break concludes.
Premier League trio chase Blues ace
According to The Sun, Chelsea are ‘facing a fight’ to keep hold of youngster Ben Elliott.
Premier League trio Southampton, Brighton and Brentford are reportedly interested in signing the 18-year-old, whose contract with the west London club is due to come to an end next summer.
Elliott is a highly-rated member of the academy at the Blues, but interest in his services could possibly sway his decision as he seeks more first team opportunities, which could potentially be away from Chelsea.
