Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is in positive spirits.

This should come as no surprise given his rise to Gunners No.1 in a relatively short space of time, as he only sealed a £24million move from Sheffield United a week before the summer transfer window closed.

Making his bow in the Carabao Cup second-round win over West Bromwich Albion, Ramsdale replaced Bernd Leno in between the sticks for Premier League games after the September international break and hasn’t looked back since.

Eight games later, he’s yet to taste defeat in Arsenal colours and has kept five clean sheets in the process – only Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy has a better record across the entire division.

As a result, there have been calls for Ramsdale to replace Jordan Pickford as England no.1 for this month’s World Cup qualification double-header against Albania and San Marino.

Or at least make his senior debut for the Three Lions.

That decision will ultimately be made by Gareth Southgate, who has rotated his goalkeepers during both international breaks this season, so the Arsenal stopper could be rewarded for his impressive performances.

With that said, it doesn’t appear that Ramsdale is showing any signs of nerves ahead of a potential England debut.

In fact, he is rather calm about the prospect as shown in England’s ‘Player Arrivals’ video which has been uploaded to YouTube.

At around the 5.04-minute mark, the camera operator and a member of the England backroom staff await the arrival of Ramsdale – and it’s safe to say neither were prepared for what was about to happen next.

Instead of Ramsdale being seated, he was stretched out in the back, trainers off and with a big smile on his face as the car door opened.

When asked to explain why he was on the floor instead of the seat, his response was straightforward: “It’s comfy,” the 23-year-old said.

This moment prompted a big response from Arsenal – and even a Manchester United fan – in the comments section as they all heaped praise on Ramsdale’s demeanour.

In addition, the Gunners keeper discovered a new nickname – ‘England’s new number one’.

Jason said: “I love how Aaron is just chilling on the floor of the car.”

Joshua Damons said: “I’m a united fan, but It’s really cool to see ESR get his first call up and also see how confident Ramsdale is looking.”

Mukiibi said: “5:10 Best Keeper in the league, meditating ; knowing that he’s England’s new number one.”

Keziah Fern said: “Aaron turning up on the floor was hilarious.”

Ben Whitton said: “Got to love Ramsdale.”
