Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Tuesday, November 9.

Maitland-Niles dismisses transfer speculation

Arsenal utility man Ashley Maitland-Niles has refused to get drawn into any more transfer talk following his starring role for the Gunners recently.

The Hale End academy prospect turned in a brilliant performance for the north Londoners as they won 1-0 against Watford, signalling an impressive turnaround having seemingly been close to leaving the club in the summer transfer window.

Following the game he said: “That’s [transfer speculation] all in the past now. I am just thinking about the future and what’s ahead of me.”

Xhaka sends injury message

Whilst Maitland-Niles has been handed an opportunity by Mikel Arteta over recent weeks, one man who has not taken to the field is Granit Xhaka.

The Swiss is still recovering from his painful knee injury suffered in the North London Derby victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite that, Xhaka has sent a message to Arsenal fans with an update on his fitness and potential return to action.

He wrote: “No days off. Recovery mode.”
