Jurgen Klopp reacts to the first defeat: Episodes against us, the unjust judge

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reservations about the refereeing in the match against West Ham United, where his team suffered its first loss of the season. Germany stressed that the episodes, which decided the match, unfortunately, were against Liverpool.

“Today they decided on some key episodes. Goals and some situations had to go differently. Let’s talk about the game. The first goal we conceded was a foul on the goalkeeper. The opposing player’s arm goes to Alisson’s arm, so how could the goalkeeper control the ball? This does not make sense. We scored the equalizer and completely controlled the game and they only played with counterattacks.

During the second half we did not play so clearly, we had to be more clinical throughout the 90 minutes. They, we must admit, have qualities and punished us. Aaron Cresswell’s intervention against Jordan Henderson was not regular. Two situations that were influential, but West Ham did not make the decisions.

What can Alisson do? This is why the goalkeeper is protected. If a player jumps in the air with his arm… is an important part of the body for the goalkeeper. People will say I’m justifying it, but I’m calm. The judge’s decisions should have been fair, but he did not. Little things decided and some things went against us.

“We were not so calm in the crucial moments, we did not have much patience.”
