Carragher’s Kroenke verdict
Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher claimed that Josh Kroenke’s comments on Arsenal’s future are ‘just words’ and stated that the American needs to follow through on promises.
“There was a little bit of David Brent in it”, he told Sky Sports. “Vision. Strategy. For me they’re just words.
“When you talk about what happened at the end of Arsene Wenger ‘s time, when they talk about ‘we went out of the top four, we need to re-evaluate’.
“Why were they not re-evaluating when they were in the top four? They weren’t challenging for the league for a very long time.”
Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere hailed Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after Mikel Arteta’s side beat Watford 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
“To come here and perform the way he has, not just with his saves but the way he plays out from the back, he’s changed the whole dynamic of the Arsenal team and I’m really happy for him because he’s a good guy.
“I think so (he can become England’s number one), I don’t see why not. I know Pickford has got it at the moment but I know he’ll be pushing him a lot.
“He can play out from the back, I know Pickford can as well. His distribution is just as good as Pickford’s and he can definitely become England’s number one.”

The report claims that the 22-year-old wants to move away from the Emirates Stadium in search of game time, meaning Arsenal could allow him to leave in the New Year in order to collect a small fee.
