Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp launched a furious rant in his post-match press conference as his team lost 3-2 at West Ham United on Sunday evening.

The Reds’ 25-game unbeaten run came to an end at the London Stadium, with the Hammers producing a tremendous second-half performance, handing Chelsea the advantage in this season’s title race.

The Blues, as we had into the international break, remain four points clear at the summit of the Premier League table with Liverpool being beaten, despite Thomas Tuchel seeing his side draw at home to Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool went 1-0 down very early on in the game in east London, with West Ham star Pablo Fornals delivering a fine cross from a corner that saw Reds goalkeeper Alisson tip the ball into his own net.

The Brazil goalkeeper was under immense pressure from Angelo Ogbonna, but after a VAR check for a foul, and then handball, the technology deemed that there was nothing wrong with the incident.

Also in the first-half, Aaron Cresswell challenged Jordan Henderson, which also had a VAR check for a possible red card, but the Hammers defender escaped without any booking, much to Klopp’s fume after the match.

“[The long unbeaten run coming to an end] is the least of my problems. However long a run is, it will come to an end,” the German told BBC Radio 5 Live after the game.

“There are couple of things that happened during the game that are difficult to take. If you don’t take your chances you’re leaving things up to ref decisions.”

When asked about which decisions he was not happy with, Klopp added: “It’s really interesting you ask that.

“I’m not sure I want to answer the question if you don’t know the situation I’m talking about. Do you not think [Alisson was impeded for the first goal]? Is your job not to have an opinion? Okay that’s nice.”

The Liverpool boss was then asked about Cresswell’s challenge again and Klopp said this: “My god. I’m not your puppy. Hopefully, you have an opinion yourself. All good.”

Chelsea fans will be delighted with the result at the London Stadium after they saw their side surprisingly held at home to Burnley just over 24 hours before.

The Blues found the back of the net in the first-half through a Kai Havertz header, but Matej Vydra levelled proceedings for the Clarets in the latter stages at Stamford Bridge.

With Manchester City beating Manchester United on Saturday, the Premier League champions are now within three points of Chelsea and West Ham beating Liverpool has seen the Hammers overtake the Reds into third place and also three points away from the Blues.
