All eyes will be on Antonio Conte’s first Tottenham team selection on Thursday evening for the Europa Conference League clash against Vitesse Arnhem.

Appointed in the hotseat on Tuesday afternoon following Nuno Espirito Santo’s departure a day earlier, the Italian will be hoping to be in the dugout for the European game providing his work permit comes through in time.

The arrival of the 52-year-old as boss has already given Tottenham supporters a huge lift after such a frustrating start to the season and it promises to be an exciting occasion at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when the Dutch side visit.

Currently third in Group G, two points behind Vitesse in second, with three fixtures remaining, the Lilywhites cannot afford to slip up as they look to advance to the knockout phase of the competition.

Whereas Espirito Santo did mix things up in Europe to give his first-team players a breather, his successor may in fact go full strength as he looks to get his team ready for Sunday’s trip to Everton.

So who will be in Conte’s first Tottenham team to take on the Eredivisie side?

Pierluigi Gollini has been Spurs’ goalkeeper in cup competition this term but he may have to drop down to the bench on Thursday evening with Hugo Lloris coming back into the side.

A change of formation could potentially be in order at the back despite the head coach only arriving at Hotspur Way on Tuesday, especially as he has played with a three-man defence at his previous clubs.

As Cristian Romero and Eric Dier have been the centre-back pairing in recent weeks, Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga will all be fighting it out to partner them.

A switch to a back three, however, would suit Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon down to the ground as they would be given more licence to attack in wing-back roles.

Conte did go with a 3-5-2 system at Inter Milan but that could potentially be bad news for one of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Oliver Skipp as there’s likely to be two attack-minded players as part of the midfield three, thus meaning Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso could be played in the same team together.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min will then be Conte’s pairing up front as the team look to pick up an important win in Europe.

The likes of Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura will be options from the bench if required.

Predicted Tottenham team vs Vitesse: Lloris; Sanchez, Romero, Dier; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon; Son, Kane
