Tottenham Hotspur have certainly been successful in bringing a number of American traditions over to the UK.

The north London outfit have been pivotal in the growth of the NFL on English shores, with the club’s new stadium having held a number of matches – the most recent being the New York Jets’ meeting with the Atlanta Falcons.

A second clash is also scheduled to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month, with the Miami Dolphins scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 17.

If the success of the first game is anything to go by – over 60,000 attending last week’s game – then supporters could well be in for a real treat.

Despite the NFL having enjoyed its own success, one American tradition has not yet been allowed the same exposure; the tradition of tailgating.

A tradition before major gatherings and sports events in the United States, it involves a person opening out their vehicle, usually a pick-up truck of some description and having a barbeque with fellow supporters.

Usually, fans gather before the game to enjoy food and drink but that is not quite possible during the 2021 London Games.

Unfortunately, there is currently nowhere for fans to gather outside of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to tailgate, although there is a number of outlets both inside and outside of the arena itself for supporters to purchase food, refreshments and just gather with fellow supporters.

The Miami Dolphins’ clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars is set to take place on Sunday evening, with kick-off scheduled for 2:30pm.
