Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose has provided an update on the fitness of a number of players, including Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian forward remains a doubt for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Mainz due to the muscle injury that has kept him out of the club’s last three games.

“The guys are coming back little by little. We can’t give exact details yet. Erling Haaland really wants to play, but we’ll have to see how it plays out,” said Rose at the pre-match press conference and added:

“Of course, the way we play changes when Erling is not there, but we’ve been able to win without him recently. We’ll have to consider what to do if he’s not ready to play this weekend. He’s determined to help the team.

“‘Mo’ Dahoud will certainly be out, Thomas Meunier still has problems with his toe. ‘Manu’ Akanji trained yesterday and is looking good ahead of Saturday. Thorgan Hazard returned yesterday. We’ll have to wait and see how he reacts.”
