Tottenham are hard at work in an attempt to sign Dusan Vlahovic with ongoing contact between all parties according to the latest reports.

TuttoMercatoWeb state that the club are very keen on the Serbian forward, despite recent claims from director of football Fabio Paratici suggesting he wasn’t currently in their plans at Tottenham.

Vlahovic, 21, is out of contract in the summer and has recently refused to sign a new contract at current club Fiorentina. This has put many clubs on alert to his situation going forward, with Spurs linked as one of those clubs.

The youngster put up impressive numbers in the Serie A last season, scoring 21 goals in 37 appearances. He has made a similarly decent start to this campaign, finding the back of the net four times in his seven league appearances so far.

His form has seen his stock continue to rise in European football as clubs became more aware of his presence. He has gone on to make 12 competitive appearances for the Serbian national team since his debut in October 2020, scoring six goals in that time.

On the striker, Paratici said this at the Trento Sport Festival : “Many people like the Serbian profile, but for now it is not part of Tottenham’s plans.

“Vlahovic is a Fiorentina player, he is a member of their team and it is not fair to talk about it. Moreover, we have the best centre forward in the world in the team and we enjoy it.

“We made the choice to keep Kane, we want to start again from him. We are convinced we did well, he loves Tottenham.”

A potential move could see Vlahovic play next to Harry Kane, who stayed in London despite a potential big-money switch to Manchester City linked to the forward in the summer.

At 6ft 2ins, Vlahovic could be deployed in the older Kane role further up the pitch and would dominate in the air. However, in his time at Fiorentina he has preferred playing with another striker and can drop into midfield to receive the ball much like the England captain.

Whether he is viewed as an option beside Kane or as a successor, there is no doubt that there will be some competition that will need to be fought off for Spurs to land the highly sought after youngster.
